JUDGE JASON C. NELSON
Jason C. Nelson was appointed to the Second District Court by Governor Spencer Cox in January 2023. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 2002 from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctor degree in 2007 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School (Brigham Young University). He served as a judicial law clerk in the Second District Court from 2007- 2008 before joining the Davis County attorney's Office. From 2008 to 2023 he worked as a deputy Davis County Attorney, where he prosecuted general felony cases and also had special assignments to prosecute drug distribution cases and domestic violence cases. He was the primary domestic violence prosecutor for the Davis County Attorney's Office from 2009 through 2018. He also served as the General Felonies Division Chief from 2019 to 2023. 3/2023
