JUDGE ROBERT A. LUND
Robert A. Lund was appointed to the Fourth District Court in November of 2020 and confirmed by the Senate in December of 2020. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Lund worked as a federal prosecutor, state prosecutor, judge advocate, law professor, and private practitioner. From 2001-2021, Judge Lund worked at the United States Attorney's Office in Salt Lake City, UT. From 1992-2001, Judge Lund worked at the King and Thurston County Prosecuting Attorneys' Offices in Seattle and Olympia, WA, and he worked briefly at a private law firm in Seattle, WA. From 1998-2021, Judge Lund also served as a Judge Advocate in reserve components of the United States Army, deploying overseas with Special Forces in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2010-2011. From 2017-2021, Judge Lund served as the State Staff Judge Advocate (general counsel) for the Utah National Guard, retiring at the rank of Colonel. From 2011-2018, Judge Lund served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Utah Law School. Judge Lund obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah (Summa Cum Laude, English & Psychology) in 1990 and his Juris Doctorate degree from Brigham Young University (Cum Laude) in 1993. 9/21
