Lana Taylor was appointed by Governor Cox in November 2024 as the Data Privacy Ombudsperson for the State of Utah. Her job is to mediate data privacy disputes between individuals and governmental entities.  Prior to that, she worked at the Utah Attorney Generals' Office in the State Agency Counsel Division where she provided legal counsel to various state agencies.  Ms. Taylor began her career as a prosecutor at the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office after receiving her Juris Doctorate from the S.J. Quinney College of Law and her honors degree in political science from the University of Utah.
