One of the keys to successful mediation is the ability to see participants as whole people. If participants are heard and respected, they are more likely to engage fully and come to a satisfactory agreement. To this end, I bring patience, persistence, deep empathy, strong analytical thinking, and honest questions to the table to help parties navigate the complex emotions and thorny issues that have brought them to mediation. I have experience mediating all types of family cases including divorce, guardianship, and parentage matters, as well as community cases of all types. I also offer individual conflict coaching sessions to help people prepare for difficult conversations. After earning BA and MA degrees from Yale University, I went on to earn a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the University of Utah. Before working as a mediator, I spent time as a conflict resolution instructor, grant writer, and case manager at Utah Dispute Resolution, and I’ve also worked in public and higher education. Life has taught me a deep respect for individual differences; I believe strongly in the role of self-determination in mediation.
